Lean Warehousing

Certificate III & IV in Transport & Logistics
(Warehousing and Storage)

Overview

Lean Thinking incorporates the concepts of customer value, continuous flow, pull, and relentless waste reduction, and applies them to all company improvement activity. It is an integrated set of industrial principles and methods that grew out of a groundbreaking 1990s study of the Japanese automobile industry.  The underlying theme of “lean” thinking is to produce more or do more with fewer resources and less waste.

Pinnacle Training Solutions is introducing Lean Principles into the Warehousing environment.  We have incorporated the Lean Principles into the Certificate III and IV Transport and Logistics (Warehousing and Storage) qualifications to help your staff to start thinking Lean.

The new program incorporates the following principles:

  • Reducing Waste – Minimising movement of Product, reducing over-checking, minimizing picking errors, reducing wait times.
  • Pull Systems – Just in Time Procedures
  • The Visual Workplace – Value Streams, Shadow-boards and SOP’s
  • Lean Thinking – Changing mindsets and changing workplace cultures.
  • Continuous Improvement  and sustaining implemented changes
  • 5S Procedures – Implement and Maintain Workplace Organisation/Housekeeping systems.
  • Organising work priorities.
